Advancing surgical outcomes through robotics.
In my current role as Manager of Interaction Design at Intuitive Surgical, our team leverages human centered methods to drive clinical outcomes for our Xi, X, and SP platforms.
The da Vinci surgical system, a surgeon uses an immersive, stereoscopic console to control robotically manipulated instruments. These procedures are associated with lower human error, less blood loss, and comparable or improved clinical outcomes from their laparoscopic and open surgery counterparts.
Da Vinci SP has been fortunate enough to receive several design awards for its merits in uniting user experience with clinical capabilities.
